Fuckin' Told Ya.

We found a consistent positive relationship between profanity and honesty; profanity was associated with less lying and deception at the individual level, and with higher integrity at the society level.

The "lie scale" they used to test honesty is really stupid and almost certainly doesn't test what they think it does. I wouldn't read too much into this one.

Oh, to be honest, I'm skeptical of all of these psyc studies as the observer effect in an natural social environment is unavoidable and non-trivial. Correcting for the observer effect often leads to measurements of things in an environment so artificial that I question its relevance to any other circumstances.
