If you weren't around when that second album came out, you're never going to know how exciting it was. (The Village Voice said it was "better than Abbey Road." They should have added that it was better than Sgt. Pepper, too.)Robbie Robertson may be a miserable human being, but he wrote more great songs in four months than any other songwriter I can think of.(Not bad for a Canadian, eh?)
It's a good album, but I'd take The White Album, Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper, Rubber Soul, and Revolver over it. And that's just The Beatles' albums.
Well, Rubber Soul and Revolver, certainly.
