America May Not Be Next After Greece

...but Niall Ferguson is worried.

FLG thinks this is one of those times when being a historian is a weakness. Yes, this may be a problem in the future, if we keep going on like this with our deficits. But FLG believes we have plenty of time to stave it off -- like a decade. Then again, he never thought he'd seen Lehman collapse so fast.

For many people who look at the exchanges between Ferguson and Krugman, there is, inevitably, some bit of befuddlement.

What to think, looking at the back and forth.

Notice that Paul is never very good or on point with comebacks.

(Just as he is never very good at responding to the criticism of, say, the Harvard economics faculty.)
