It's a pretty standard feature of the attack on correspondence views of epistemology, if that helps. One cannot go 'all the way down' because there's nothing to which one can uncontroversially appeal, that is, no properly basic truths.
No, it doesn't help. I still don't know if I'm too smart to worry about uncontroversial truths or too stupid not to worry.
I'll see if I can't explain it better on my blog tomorrow; I'm writing that part of the chapter, anyway.
