Mary Beard:
[Giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize] seems a bit like giving Neville Chamberlain one in 1938, on his way back from Munich, without stopping to find out what happens next. The Peace Prize should surely be for achievement, not effort.

It saddens FLG that she felt the need to provide a link to the Wikipedia page on the Munich agreement and was probably correct to do so.
