Book Review IV

Arrrrr-duous
By Fear and Loathing in Georgetown

FLG's latest opens in the middle of the sea. Two pirates, Capt. Chickenhead and Bill Hands, are afloat upon a small raft complete with crow's nest. Little do they know that a kraken has been stalking them ever since they left Port Royale. In ignorant bliss, they spend most of their day looking for land, worrying about how quiet Sam their parrot is, commenting on the useful it is that their raft has pegs which fit perfectly into their shoes, and how they wish they had opposable thumbs instead of U-shaped hands. Then the could hold things besides a small plastic sword and spyglass.

Unfortunately, FLG's final use of Deus Ex Machina, when Timmy, the petulant god of the blue living room carpet, smashes the raft in a fit of anger, and both Capt. Chickenhead and Bill plummet to Davy Jones' locker and the kraken is lost forever in the netherworld known as under the couch, is a bit much.
