Technology Is Not Magic Continued: Digital Photography

I've received several emails over the past year asking when the title picture was taken. Sometimes, the question is follow by "How much has Georgetown changed since then?" It's as if people think the picture was an original Matthew Brady daguerreotype. The answer is that Georgetown has not changed much since the picture was taken because it was taken by me on August 5th, 2007.

And then a film grain:


Next, I cropped it using gimp, which is a program like Photoshop -- but free:


And added text:



Finished product took approximately ten minutes.
