A Few Quick Bullet Points

  • I've been reading the Book of Revelation. My mother is now on Facebook, and I'm convinced that's one of the seals.
  • Maximum Leader seems to enjoy Culture11. I gave it a chance, but have finally resigned myself to the status of Culture11 hater. I previously enjoyed and still enjoy a number of contributors to Culture11 on their own blogs, but the whole what-we-are-doing-is-so-cool-and-by-creating-this-site-we-have-influence-and-did-we-mention-that-we-are-awesomel-because-we-are-like-so-hip vibe really turns me off. The site needs to be destroyed.
  • I've been wondering if my continuing defense of Latin has had any effect. Thoughts?
  • I've always assumed that my regular readers were male, save Mrs. P. The relatively recent revelation that our friend in California is named Linda and that Dance had been reading FLG is kinda weird to me. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I just figured robots, pirates, and sex with inanimate objects wasn't a chick thing. Scratch that. Sex with inanimate objects is kinda a chick thing. Where's that vaginal barbell again?
  • FLG is still thinking about what to do with the blog after the baby arrives. He's put some thought into moving to longer form, weekly posts. But he always says that to himself and never does.
  • Thoughts on Fear and Loathing in Georgetown moving to WordPress?
  • FLG is also thinking of creating another blog that would just be conversations, and he wouldn't post them here.
  • I'm saddened by the death of The Feast of Nemesis.
  • Anybody have anything else to say?

-I'm a chick, and I've got a thing for pirates.
-I like your conversations, whether it's a separate blog or not.
-I don't need a defense of Latin, but others may.

Don't know what Culture11 or Wordpress are. I think I'm too old to be a "chick", but "goddess" works. Latin rocks! A conversational blog would be fun. I fantasize about sex with pirate robots! (fyi, changed the name of my blog to Rebel Girl as a tribute to the late, great Elizabeth Gurley Flynn - labor leader, activist, feminist, and commie!)

Rebel Girl is a good choice. Since Mother Jones was already taken.

Fuck this noise.
Stay Put.
Keep Posting the way you always have. (Kids are not as big a problem as some would have you believe. They take time and energy and you'll be bushed for the first two months but you can still write.)
Latin is, after all, the Mother Tongue and nobody can argue with that.
Culture 11 is clearly a den of hedonistic blow-hards grown fat on their own hubris.
Keep the conversations here. I like this blog they way it is and, since I'm a Republican, I hate change.
As for sex with inanimate objects, well...I have a penis and as far as I'm concerned, they haven't made enough things for me to stick it in.

Right On.

I think Basil will be back. He's pulled the plug a few times and always come back...

Keep conversations here.

I like Wordpress. But Blogger is a lot better than it used to be. There is something to be said for free and ubiquitous.
